2017-08-28  Highly recommended for a relaxing, peacefull holidays

A very nice, comfortable villa for a bigger family or a group of friends, located in a small village, very close to the beach. Clean, with each bedroom having a separate bathroom. Big terrace with a sea view - just a great place to stay for someone who wants to have a rest without a big crowd around. Two shops, few beach bars and still a good place to explore surrounding area. Take advantage of the advices given by the owner on the places worth visiting, boat trip to see the places like Blue Cave was great!

Lovely location, spacious house, great views from the balconies, great base for exploring MonteN

Lots to do in the vicinity apart from the fact that you are only a few yards from the beach. Very accessible host and friendly local agent on hand to help out if required. Local beach bars and restaurants were good too. Perast would be a more 'swanky' location perhaps although much more touristy and we loved the local feel of Orahovac, and the neighbours were very friendly.

The vacation in a beautiful vila Hollick was amazing! The house is very clean, spacious and conveniently equipped with every imaginable appliances. The sea just across the street! The view is great! The owner is very hospitable and helped us with all our requests and questions . The house is ideal for a big families with kids like ours. I would love to come back and stay at vila Hollick next year !

7 May 2017  Superb Vila Hollick

Vila Hollick is a beautiful Vila. Very impressive from the outside and excellently decorated and furnished inside. The 3 of the bedrooms are en suite and the 4th has its own bathroom. There's even another bathroom for good measure on the middle floor. The kitchen is also great and everything you could possibly need. There are plenty of balconies to choose from with fabulous views over Kotor Bay. The small hamlet of Orahovac is really peaceful and the ideal spot to get around and see the lovely sights of Montenegro. There is a small local, well stocked, shop and even a small pebbled beech within 50m. When we were there the 2 local beech bars were closed but looked as if they were both getting ready to open for the high season. The Veranda Restaurant and Amfora Hotel are both within very easy walking distance and the food at both was very good. Kotor is only a 5 euro taxi ride away and there are loads of restaurants to chose from there. Amanda was extremely helpful when we were arranging the trip and Ana and Melina couldn't have been more helpful during our visit and nothing was too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend Montenegro and the ideal place to stay is Vila Horrick. Thanks to Amanda, Ana and Melina for making our stay so enjoyable.

18 Aug 2016    Excellent accommodation, spectacular views

Excellent spacious accommodation located a few steps from the beach with the added benefit of parking. We arrived quite late in the evening in the dark and were welcomed by a neighbour who gave us a tour of the property and a brief run through of the general running of the aircon, washing machine etc. We awoke in the morning to the spectacular views across the bay that can be seen from the balconies of the 2 front bedrooms and the main living area. The property is close to a couple of small shops to get the basics and a hotel and beach cafe which all gave good service. Excellent food in the hotel and really friendly service from the beach cafe down the road. Kotor old town is well worth a look and the Roman Mosaics down the road are fascinating. Quite a lot of interesting things to see and do around the bay but you have to travel up and down the same stretch of road. It gets really tight off the main roads so hire a small car and be prepared to do plenty of reversing! All in all a very pleasant place to stay and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Right after we booked the place, Amanda sent us by email information about the area and Montenegro in general. She made sure that Ana the housekeeper has our details and contact us. The house is just perfect for leisure on the beach. the beautiful beach is just across the street. We were traveling with kids and had everything we needed in the house- all the beds were ready, the kitchen is well-equipped, the terrace is large, suited for eating outside and the house was very clean. We strongly recommend this house!

Envible Location in Perast.

Reviewed 21 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016 on Trip Advisor.

Perast is a special location on the bay and this semi-detached house is ideally located set one row back & one terrace up (about 12 steps) from the "street" . The patio front looks onto the bay and is perfect for alfresco eating. The interior is generously proportioned and the entire property is at the quiet end of a quiet village... this is not club-land! A simple but excellent restaurant (Otok Bronza) is 10m away on the water front, and clean pontoons allow for easy access to the water for swimming. Stunning views are permanent in & outside the property, and house managers Ana & Milena provided timely and generous assistance on all matters. All the internal amenities (a/c, cooker/fridge/water supply etc) were fine and even at the height of the season this village never gets overrun. The village street is closed to cars other than house owners during the peak season, although it was OK to drive in to drop off suitcases. Car parking is best done by using the pay option outside the barrier at the southern end of the village (€2 per day), and walking the 200m or so to the apartment. Hotel Conte is another fine restaurant and is about 100m walk along the waterfront. Looking forward to returning!

Dear Amanda,

Just wanted to let you know that we enjoyed our stay in your fantastic house in Orahovac very much and that the service from Ana and Milena was great.
We went for a hiking trip in the mountains (our idea was to walk from Orahovac to Perast through the mountains) but we missed a few signs so we finally got lost ;-).
We bumped onto a hunter/shepherd that could show us the way we needed to take... and we phoned Ana who served as translator... what an experience that was! ;-)
We also enjoyed the good food that Fanika served us on one of the nice evenings ;-).
You have very nice neighbors over there.
It was the second time that we visited Montenegro with our family and we all love this country very much so we hope to come back in the future.
Thanks for renting us your great house Amanda.
Kindest Regards,
Jack, Hilde and kids.

Très belle maison

17th August 2015

One of our best holidays ever

8th August 2015

Our stay in Orahovac was one of our best holidays we have ever had with family and friends. The Villa is perfectly situated on the sea front with local restaurants and shop a minute walk away. The villa is furnished well and provides a lovely home to come back to after a day on the water and near by beach. The large terrace area allows you to spend long lazy lunches and dinners with friends and family looking out over the most amazing scenery. Will go back every year if possible. Orahovac is perfectly situated to see all that Montengro has to offer.

An "must visit" destination - we will be back!
Date de séjour 30 juillet 2014

I couldn’t recommend a holiday in one of the Hollick’s villas more. Amanda is a great host, so friendly & willing to tailor your stay. The villas are great for couples, families & groups. The scenery, food and friendly locals are what make Montenegro memorable for us. We first visited Montenegro with a group of friends (& a toddler) a couple of years ago, it was an amazing trip. We hired a car at Dubrovnik airport & drove for about an hour into Montenegro. The first thing that wowed us was the scenery, the mountains combined with the blue water is absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in Perast which is stunning & on the waterfront, it has a lot of local restaurants and is lovely and quiet, perfect for fun filled holiday! This year, my boyfriend & I chose to go back. It was more of a last minute get away for some R&R – getting out of London and leaving work behind! We decided we didn’t need to hire a car, so flew into Dubrovnik and Amanda Hollick (the owner) arranged for us to be picked up from the airport by a local driver. He drove us to Orahavac in Montenegro, stopping to let us get cash in a nearby town. The house was spotless when we arrived. From there, we could see straight out into the bay, which called for a quick swim before unpacking! There’s a nearby shop for getting bread, juice, wine, fruit, chocolate etc so we promptly stocked up. We spent the mornings reading on the terrace (with a morning swim), we went to local bars/café’s during the day & either walked to nearby restaurants for dinner & on a couple of occasions we got a taxi to Kotor. Kotor is a bustling town with cafés, shops, restaurants, bars & nightclubs. There’s a great restaurant on top of the walls with amazing views out to the bay. The food and wine in Montenegro is really good value, the seafood is amazing. I mostly had prawns, moules, seafood risotto, linguine, etc, although they're pizzas, pastas & steaks. There are some good ice-cream & coffee shops, the locals are very friendly too. One day, we hired a boat and went to Porto Montenegro, it is like St Tropez ! There are super yachts galore, designer shops, a great cocktail bar and a good ice cream parlour. Amanda recommended an amazing fish & wine shop should we want to eat in, it’s like Fortnum and Mason on the coast! You can get fresh seafood here and take it back to the house to cook on the BBQ. At the end of our stay, Amanda arranged for us to be driven into Dubrovnik where we stayed for our last night.

The house is in a perfect location, very near to the beach and on a small quiet side road. The house is very well maintained, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and large terrace with table and chairs which allows for lovely lazy evenings eating and taking in the view.. The views from the bedrooms and terrace are spectacular and give an extensive view of the bay and hillsides. The property was very clean and clearly well cared for, the arrangements for the house were clear and helpful and the housekeeper who showed us round was also cheerful and friendly. The beach is small but the water is beautifully clear and swimming was delightful. the beach is very popular at weekends, but during the week, it was reasonably spacious and quiet.
The villa is in a good location, near enough to easily get to busy kotor but also offering a peaceful location with easy access to other sites to visit

I would recommend this villa to anyone who wants to see Kotor bay - it is in a lovely part of the bay and the scenery is truly spectacular. We were a group of varying ages and everyone the holiday and staying in the villa.

Hello!!
Thank you for excellent holiday!!
We enjoyed the villa very much. The weather, sun,water-everything gratified us every day!!

Dear Amanda,

We have good holidays in your beautiful villa, even if the weather was bad. Fanika and Ivan help us particularly the first days.

We found that your villa was beautifully done, with a nice terrace and a view incredible.

However a dishwasher will be welcome. We have also a little problem with the shutter, it was very hard to open.

My English is too bad so I speak now in French, nous avons beaucoup apprécié votre maison, son emplacement est idéal et nous la recommenderons à nos amis français. Le Monténégro est un pays magnifique, même sous la pluie et les monténégrins sont des gens charmants et accueillants.

Kind regards

We spent a week in August at Villa Hollick with our two young children. We thought the house was beautifully done, and really well thought out in terms of amenities -- air conditioning in the rooms, a barbecue, nice terrace furniture.

The windows and 180 views of the bay are lovely, and the beach across the street is the best we found in the whole bay, rarely overly crowded and a nice, family atmosphere. Being able to wake up in the morning and take a dip before breakfast sealed the experience for us.

We also thought the area of Orahovac was a great place to stay, probably one of the nicest corners in Montenegro, away from the summer crowds and madness, yet right near the beautiful town of Perast (which we loved) and not far from quaint Kotor.

We'll definitely be back! Thank you Amanda for the use of your lovely home.

"In the splendid surroundings of little and quiet Orahovac hamlet, we found the villa being more attractively in reality then in pictures.
The house is equipped with all you may need, elegant and well decorated. Clean as well. All information needed where provideded in many languages. From the living room terrace we could watch over our children bathing in the warm waters of Kotor Bay. The beach was almost empty on all times (last week of august). All in all a place designed for relaxation and late night talking around a cold beer or a bottle of wine.

Those looking for close clubs and dancing rings must look elsewhere, or go to Kotor.
We found in the Grota restaurant a tasty cuisine and a skilled personal.
You need car for a proper shopping, because in the hamlet you find only basic food - ex.: you can't find fresh meet, or fish.
Short travelings (Perast, Kotor) can be done with the air conditioned local bus (can arrive earlier then on schedule).

In the end, I would recommend the property to everyone who's not seeking an agitated holiday.

Review Title : 998279 - "Exellent holiday"

"This house is superb very spacious and furnished to a high standard and upon arrival everything was very clean and tidy. The views from the two front bedrooms and patio are amongst the best you could find anywhere. The village of Orahovac was quiet with hardly any traffic and the village shops had most of the everyday essentials. The neighbours were very friendly and helpful. There are many good restaurants close by some which are mentioned in the Villa book and the village hotel also had a good restaurant. This is a great base and if you have a car there are so many places close by with Kotor only 10 to 15 minutes away. Kotor is a fantastic place with loads of character many bars and restaurants and a food market everyday. The bus service is also very regular and reliable

This is our second time in Montenegro the first time we stayed in Amanda Hollicks other property in Perast and would have no hesitation in recommending either properties with the villa in Orahovac being the one for larger parties.

Dear Amanda!

We have returned home, in Ukraine. Many thanks, we are very good rest. Your villa is well met all necessary canon of recreation.
We were in Kotor, swam into the sea on a boat, went to the monument Njegos. No time to visit Skadar Lake and the river Tara. We think that will leave it to another holiday. I met your son Nick, a true Englishman.

Very pleased as preparing fish and other dishes Fanika, and delicious and not expensive. Ana also helped us to order the car, give her greetings to us.

We told his friends on vacation, they want to come too, but they have such large companies, and if less people, the rest will be expensive.
And everything else - very good, once again thank you! See!

The house was very beautiful. The garage directly at the house was very practical for our motorcycles. Each of us 4 bikers had a double room with a own bathroom. 2 month before we didn't know how many people are going with us on tour. So it was very practically for us to rent a house with max. 10 sleep-places. At the end we where only 4. We had felt very comfortable in the house. It has been missing to nothing.
